    I recently burned a vcd movie and can play it on my CDR but can I play it on my DVD player so I can view it on my teli or can I convert it to DVD first? Any help is appreciated, cheers, Neesh,IE

  2. If you burned the VCD properly, then you should have no problems using your DVD Player to play it, unless of course your DVD doesn't support the playback of CDR/CDRW media.

    What's the point of a VCD if you can't play it on your television??

    Of course you can play it on your DVD player!
    Just go the the compatibility list page on this site and find your standalone model and see if it supports VCD/SVCD playback.

    Make sure your VCD/SVCD is encoded in MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.
    You can convert your VCD/SVCD into DVD if you have a DVD burner, which will increase video quality emmensly as well as audio. I say if you can burn a DVD then go right ahead!

    But, you can also get near DVD quality using Kwag's XVCD templates, go to http://www.kvcd.net and try out his XVCD templates!
