    i have movies dowanloaded on my harddrive and trying to put them on dvd r. is there anyone out there that has done this. please reply

  2. i have downloaded a couple of divx (high quality) and AC-3 episodes of angel over the net (Fox won't put this release for at least 2 years).

    What i do is convert the video stream to mpeg2 VBR, changing a bit of DVD templates (altering the bit rate), using 16:9 as source and as destiny. This way the DVD will be anamorphic. (Using TMPGEnc)

    For the audio i extract the ac-3 from the avi (Using VirtualDub). It comes in a non-standard form, so you have to run headac3 to fix the headers (you won't lose quality in the sound, as the only thing you change are the headers).

    Then using a DVD authoring program, you can multiplex audio and video and you get a great quality DVD(The audio is the same of those fellow britain / australian original DVD's)!!
