I have downloaded some AVIs, but when I convert them to MPeg2 with tmpgenc I get no sound.
Also when I play them in Premiere 6, I also get no sound.
But they play ok in media player. In the properties it says the audio is MPEG Layer-3,89kBit/s, 44,100 Hz Stereo and the video is 344x288, 24 Bits, 6715 Frames, 25.000 Frames/Sec, 73KB/Sec, DIVXMPG4 V3.
In the 'other infromation' box it says Software-Nandub v1.0rc2.
I have got the Divx codec loaded, do I need a plugin for premiere?
Should I be using a later version of Tmpegenc? (I have beta 12)

Have you tried convert the audio to wav with virtualdub ?
www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm -
Thanks for that, it worked. It said the audio was non-standard VBR and there might be some synching problems, but it was spot on. Cheers.
