  1. I am using Nero 5.5.8 to try and burn a dvdrip(Smart Ripper), then encoded using DVDx 1.8. When I am going into Nero and selecting SVCD as the format, I get the noncompliancce message (yes I click right past it and ignore it). The files are burning to cd-r(imation 80 min-700mg, and pny 700mb-80min). But when I go to play them in my Apex 5131, the file will not play in the dvd player. BTW, it plays fine on the pc.

I also get a message in Nero stating that to be SVCD compatible, it has to be mpeg2 format, when I encode, I make sure that my settings are correct and I do select the SVCD format for encoding.

Does anyone have ideas why I cannot the SVCD's top play on the Apex. I only use the same cd-r's and VCD works fine. Even my DVD Rips and SVCD's that were given to me are working fine.

    Thanks

  2. Do you have the Nero SVCD plug-in? Nero does not come with the mpeg2 converter, you must purchase that seperately.

  3. I guess I do not.

will the plug in allow my Apex 5131 to read the disc then? Because as I stated earlier, my pc will read the disc and the format is correct. If I need to get the plug in, do you have nay ideas where I might be able to get it?

  4. My only reason for asking is that the only error I received was when I was trying to burn it to disc, it said it was not mpeg2?

If I do not have the plug in, will it still burn to cd-r?

  5. I am using the nero mpeg2 plugin (get it from www.nero.com $16) to make svcd from avi files. It works well and plays on my apex 1500 no trouble. I am even using super cheap ($0.06) cdrs.

    Good luck.
