Which quality if better VHS or VCD(mpeg1)?
I found that the quality of VHS recorded from DV is a lot better than DV to mpeg1. Am i correct?

It depends on the encoder. If you use a realtime hardware encoder, the quality will not be as good as a software encoder which take much longer.

I would like to know the resolution of VHS and also of NTSC television. This will be helpful when I'm looking at capture cards.
