  2. Are you talking about those spam guys that say, "copy any DVD movie onto a CDR and still have DVD quality!!!" Dont but it, they are scammers. What they will give you is info and software available free here and many many other places on the net.
    They will give you an encoder, TMPG or Virtual dub are favorites, both free to download.
    They will give you a ripper, many choices here, but all are free.
    They give you a little guide, you can find a very good tutorial here on vcdhelp.
    And their claims of DVD quality, not quite, DVD uses high bitrate MPEG2 video, they will teach you how to convert to Divx which is HIGHLY compressed. If done properly a movie will be "near" dvd quality, and will take up 630-730MB to get DVD quality. Now these divx movies you will find on the net are often non DVD quality, but they are very small and easy to send, 300-450MB. VCD is an MPEG1 vcr quality. Its better than VCR but nowwhere near DVD.


    Spend some time here and you will get all the skills and tools needed to make great quality movies, and we wont charge you a penny.

    Someone on another forum complained about these guys coz they sent him

    TMPGEnc (an old version at that...)
    NERO (another out of date version and a demo.....)
    SMARTRIPPER (summat like that anyway..)

    And here's the biggy........

    PHOTOCOPIED GUIDES printed from WEB PAGES........
