  1. okay, i read the instruction on how to do this. The problem is i started out extracting the audio in wav format using virtualdub but then i accidently deleted the file. Now, i tried to extract the wav again using the same divx but it give me an error about input or something like that. so the question is, this divx file is pretty much useless for convert to dvdmpeg correct? The sound is still intact when i play it on the computer though. just cannot extract it to wav.

  2. The audio might be AC3 or VBR MP3 which virtualdub cannot convert properly. Extract from the divx using direct stream copy and use BeSweet or Headac3he to convert to wav. then convert as normal

  3. Hmmm....that's odd. I don't think it's AC3. I could extract it the first time with virtualDub...this is the message i got when trying to extract w/virtualdub...

"The request audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format"

can anyone decrypt what the hell this means? hehe..

  4. that usually means AC3 audio is present. Look at file properties under virtualdub abd check the number of channels listed under audio. Anything other than 2 is trouble. When you extracted it 1st time you must have used direct stream copy by mistake, properties of avi file dont suddenly change! Follow my original advice and you will be ok.
