  1. When I capture MPG2 quality using my AIW MMC, the files are outputed as *.MP2s. These will not convert to SVCD using Nero.
At the moment, I have to go into command prompt, rename the MP2 to MPG, import the file into Adobe Premiere, Export the file as an AVI (there is no MPG export option for Premiere), then use TMPGEnc to convert to MPG2. This takes absolutely ages.
Does anyone have the same problem? Is there a quick way around it? I can also capture MPG1, but the quality is not too good (lots of artefacts). AVI seems to eat up disk-space no matter waht Codec I set. 12mins = 4GB!

  2. Here is what I do with my AIW mpeg2 capture files using TMPGenc. First use the "Merge & Cut" and select "MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR)" profile; load your .mp2 clip and enter a new file name with .mpg extension, then click "run". When finished, you remove the original file and load this new file to the main window. Now you can scroll easily and mark the cutting points. Then follow the same steps to have the final cut(s), and possibly merge all the cuts to one file. Then burn with Nero's SVCD profile.
