I have made a couple VCD's so far, seem to work fine but in all cases the background music is too loud, and the voices are hard to hear... any suggestions on how to fix this on future burns?

If you are using VirtualDub to capture, set the volume to a lower level so that your audio will not be distorted. You can do this in AUDIO... then VOLUME METER.
If you are not using VirtualDub, then check out your software where you can adjust this. If all else fails, in WINDOWS control panel, look for the audio devices set-up and recording set-up. Lower the volume here.
Good luck. -
I wouldnt even try making VCDs on the computer. Its a pain in the ass and too many problems and then the quality is never good unless you use the best software, ect...
Get a stand alone VCD or DVD recorder.
