  3. I have the same question, but I don't think it's in the conversion section. Is there a special program you need to accomplish this with?

"How to convert to VCD with DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc
SVCD to VCD. MPEG2 to VCD/MPEG1. Other video source formats supported: SVCD, MPEG2, M2V. Windows. Freeware."

  5. I think this method will work. Get TMPEnc and go to File->MPEG Tools. Click the Merge/Cut tab. Click add to add the MPEG 2 files. Change the thing at the top that says MPEG2 SVCD to MPEG1 System Auto. Click browse to select output file. Click Run. This should change the stream from MPEG2 to MPEG1. However, I am not going to gaurentee this to work.

You are talking about remuxing the SVCD stream as a VCD stream. This will only change the video headers, it will not create true MPEG-1 VCD video (although some players will be fooled).

The only way to create a true, compliant VCD is to re-encode.
