  1. I want to make subtitles. Is it possible to make subtitles for a VCD witch are switchable or is this only possible for SVCD?
If so, how do I make them?
I couldn't find anything about this in the tutorials

  3. Theos, do you mean, you want to make your own subtitles? I wanted to for my home vids, but couldnt figure out how? Does anyone know?

All i want to do is type in the subtitles myself and have them come in at the right time, and they must be selectable. Surely some1 must know.

chodges84, there is a (hard) way. Use SubStationAlpha to write and sync the subtitles, save the script (*.ssa) and convert the .ssa to a series of bitmaps with MaestroSBT. These subtitles you can mux with submux or I-Author. It is not easy, but it is possible.

  7. In Sub Station Alpha, use wav-files to time the subtitles. Then when you frameserve with VirtualDub, you can 'give' the subtitles along with the video.

  8. don't think that many standalone dvd players even support switchable subtitles (only hardcoded onto the video is supported)
