  1. Ok, is there a way i can extract the sound from divx files using virtualdub
    mine just says unrecognised decompression, or words to that affect , i realise that the sound on divx is super compressed, just wonderd if there was a plugin,.......etc ?

    Depending on where you got your DivX from, there is often an info file with it, which will often specify the audio format used. Sounds like you might have ac3 or ogg sound, presuming you can't select audio>>full comression and save the audio as wav. If you can play the DivX with sound in some other player, this is quite probably the case, and you should check out the guides here for extracting sound other than mp3 from an avi. If you can't play it at all with sound, the first step is to acquire the necessary codecs to allow you to hear the sound.
