  1. So basically all I have to do is load the KVCD template into TMPEGEnc, encode the entire movie and then I can burn the whole thing onto 1 CDR right????? Has this been working well for everyone?? Thanks!

The KVCD uses CQ encoding so filesizes are completely unpredictable. Just encode at the default settings. If the resulting mpg fits on the desired number of cds and your happy with the quality then your done. If the size is too big or too little you will have to adjust the CQ level and encode it again. You may want to use 2-pass vbr encoding instead. With this you can use a bitrate calculator and determine the exact bitrate to use to fit your movie onto 1 cdr. This will take twice as long to encode but you will only have to encode once.

  3. You may now leave the CQ level at the default of 80 , as there is no more noticeable visible quality beyond that point. Only file size increase.

Just as Adam mentioned above, just encode, and if it fit's in one CD, fine.
If not, just cut the mpeg and fit it in 2 CD-R'.
But don't increase with the CQ, because you won't notice the difference.

The current settings should allow 180+ minutes in 2 CD-R's.
