  1. 1) I used both MVB and CQ VBR, when I tried...CQ was 2118 bitrate for the following

4 discs, 80 meg discs, 2:57:19 second video, 5 megs for ISO space, 224 kbit/s audio

    For MVBR I tried 2118-2496

    For 2pass_MVBR I tried 2118 average, 2520 max, 2000 minimum

I also just tried doing MVBR on Normal, and that didn't work either...Audio was fine, but video was dropping frames all over the place.

    So my questions are:

    1) What motion search to use?
    2) What type of bitrate to use? (CQ_VBR, MVBR, CQ, CBR, etcetera)

FYI, I don't have these problems at all with VCD.

    Using TMPGEnc, of course.

    I'm so confused.

  4. Up to now, I've used 2496, 2520, and 2118 bitrates on every single bitrate type (CQ, 2pass_MVBR, etcetera)...And almost every type of motion search.

The movie itself, when played on the computer stutters like crazy.

  6. A few possibility:

    1) your DVD player has trouble to play SVCD at any bitrate higher than 2000 ???

    2) if the same MPEG file plays with stuttering then check the captured AVI file. Play it with WMP to see if the problem came from there.

    3) try a dfferent version of TMPGenc.

Motion search setting should not affect audio.

  7. The stuttering occurs during the ENCODING...As it happens on playback on PC and DVD player.

The source file has no suttering.

  8. Ok...Update.

I have now tried 17 different bitrates, multiple versions of TMPGenc, all the possible combinations of motion searches and bit rate encoding styles...With and without plugins, and SVCDs still stutter.

I have reformatted, and the source movie is alright.

  9. Sounds to me like it could be your computer. Try to re-download and re-install all the programs you have associated with this.
