the problem u have here is one of 2 things. first u either have a old version of Tmpgenc and the avi has compressed the adiou wich needs to be removed and decompressed in a wav. file. this will help if that is what the error message is telling u and i think it should be. i would also suggest to go to tmpenc and download there new verison which is a 30 day trial. Good luck and hope that helps

    jp,

You could do it like that... Capture in this program, Edit in that one, and Convert in another still... Then worry about is the settings right in each of those programs.

    OR

You could Capture, Edit, Convert all in one pregram!

Try out Ulead's Media Studio Pro DC... You can download a 30day Trial from their site, to see if it works 4 U.

I use it for everything except burning. The result is a clear, crisp image... No jerking, no microblocks, and the sound is ALWAYS in sync. All you have to do is choose the resolution you want and the bitrate... BAAAMMMM ! its done!

I find the best (but slow) way to convert avi to mpeg is FX MPEG WRITER from www. jhepple.com and it's free.
