  1. hello, everyone! i'm having a little bit of a problem with my chapter timing being off.. i'm following Sefy's guides, and i have copied two movies.. Little Nicky and The Sound of Music. Little Nicky had some problems with the chapters, and it was more noticable at the end of the movie, but Sound Of Music was just off badly.. it was more noticable as the movie progressed. Anyone have suggestions?? I can tell you what progs i'm using for each step..

    Smartripper to rip
    Chapter X-tractor to rip chapters
    DVD2AVI to frameserve
    and TMPGEnc to encode..

i check the times that there's supposed to be a new chapter, and it's totally off.. someone please help me!!

  5. ok, what i did was extract the info with chapter x-tractor.. before i encoded the wav and d2v files through tmpgenc, i checked where i should split the movie for the other discs (sound of music is 2.5+ hours long, so it's 3 discs), and when i checked the timings for the chapters, it didn't match up quite right.. it did at first, but as the movie progressed, the chapters would get more and more off. the scene would change way after the chapter changes.. (i.e. the chapter info says that the 21st chapter is supposed to start at 1:30.45, but the scene isn't totally over until 1:33:45). for instance, i split disc 1 after the song "do-re-mi", but the song isn't finished when the chapter x-tractor info says it is.. it cuts out early.

so, in other words, i haven't gotten to the part of your method where i use vcdeasy or tscv yet.. i'm still at the encoding stage.. and by the way, what does closed gop's do? thanks for helping so far, sefy!! your guides are awesome!

  6. Ok, I know what happened, what you did, is that on the second and onward CD's, you typed the begining as 0:00:00 instead of the ending time of the first movie, so VCDEasy didn't setup the chapters correctly on the other discs

  7. no, sefy!! that's not my problem. i know how to do the offset for multiple cds.. we're still talking about the first cd. the chapters are almost right on at the beginning, but progressively off by more at the end. of the first disc.

  8. I apologise, I misunderstood you previously, so as for your problem, your best way would be to manually set the chapters, and as for your previous questions the GOP's are exactly the points where the program actually puts the chapter in.
