From dvd 8gb to dvd 4.7 gb

Hi all,

Just got my dvd burner and wantet to make a copy of one of my dvd movies, the problem is that the movie is about 8 gb and I can only burn 4.7 gb.

What is my options, because I would like to get as many features on my copy as possible?

If that is not possible, what program should I use to get the movie with subtitles on my 4.7 gb dvd disk.
