  1. Hi, I have had some problems on burning a few VCDs (specifically, A Beautiful Mind [QiX] and The Lord Of The Rings [TCF]). When viewing them in Windows Media Player or RealPlayer, I see a ton of green squares that seem to melt with the video. Also, when trying to burn them to CDs with Nero/CDRWIN, it gets to 100% and then freezes (but the CD keeps burning...). The only way to stop the CD drive is to restart the computer, and therefore, the CD is useless. I am able to fix the squares problem by viewing the video with PowerDVD/WinDVD; however, the burning problem still remains. I have come to the conclusion that the problems are related, but I have not found out what causes it...

  2. I don't know if it applies in your case, but I've had experience with this issue and it turned out that the green blobs on the screen came from burning onto poor quality media. I changed to better quality CD-R(W)s and got rid of the problem. I believe that the better players such as WinDVD or PowerDVD are better programmed to work through the issues associated with poor quality media.

  3. Hmmm I doubt this is the problem...I've tried both Memorex and TDK CD's...no success.
