  1. So a few days ago my Samsung VCR DVD combo finally bit the dust after two decades. I got an LG LV880 a few days later and I'm having a problem capturing my tapes; all the RCA cables are in but on AmaRecTV, it only comes up with a dark blue screen and nothing more during playback.

Anybody know how I can sort this out? The Samsung VCR had no trouble being captured at all.

    How is it connected exactly?
As it seems to be a PAL machine, you have connected it with a SCART to RCA cable/adapter?
    Correct (1st) SCART connector?
    Correct SCART to RCA adapter/cable?
Verified it is working on a TV, of you still have one with SCART/RCA input?
How different did you connect it from your Samsung VCR DVD combo?

  3. I connected it to the TV with a scart adaptor and it works fine. However, the Samsung VCR immediately picked up the signal on my laptop, without the need for scart adaptors, just composite cables.
