Hello, thanks to all responsible parties for this website and great archival of knowledge.
My questions deal with capturing and interlaced /or not interlaced source files.
I am filming/recording projected film with a SONY PC100 digital Handycam, then capturing with a Dazzle DVC 80 USB(as far as I can tell uses proprietary codecs, cause I can't get it to work with Virtual Dub or TEMPGEnc) ..
Main Question is: Using this method of capture are the .avi's interlaced or non interlaced?
I do not have a problem with encoding or burning VCD's but I am looking for as much quality as I can get considering the source files.
From what I can see, the DVC 80 captures to an uncompressed .avi, you then have a choice to compress it in different formats before encoding.
I would like to try to use Virtual Dub for editing before encoding as I've seen some nice results from others using the filters, but before I start I would like to confirm whether the source file is interlaced or not interlaced since this seems to be the core of where some of the filters for Virtual Dub and TEMPGEnc work from.
Thanks
