  1. Can i go straight to Nero to burn a VCD from any file type? Like lets say a .wmv file type then just go in nero and create it as a vcd then can i play it on my dvd player sense its convert to vcd now? Or no it would not work like that?

Sometimes Nero will accept a non (S)VCD-ready mpg and encode it, but very often the results are disappointing. There are no settings to alter. Better to get whatever you want to turn into a VCD into VCD-compliant form with something like TMPGEnc first, and use Nero for burning the VCD. Look at the guides on this site for further info.

  3. banjazzer ok i just hate how long it takes to encode it :(
But then again i can use my computer when its doing it but still. I guess my duron 800mhz is not exactly what you would call fast now a days. I know if i want it to go faster i could get a faster processor. I believe i read that a faster processor helps in encoding faster.

  4. Nero will accept your wma file and convert it to vcd as it write s. Get the wma plugin from the nero page, its free. Its also faster, but as for output it all depends on how good the input is.

    Good luck

It certainly does! I now have an Athlon 1200. I used to do it on an AMD K6-400, and that was sloooow. Converting to DivX could take me the best part of 24 hours. The faster the machine the better.
