  1. HI I'M a cat

however, please help me if possible. My NLE works with with a very good mode that when you drag the clip to the timeline, it does not move or overwrite the clips that were already present in the timeline, furthermore it trims the length of the clip that you are about to put in the timeline if you try to place it towards another clip that is already present. This editing mode is very convenient for me. My question is: is it possible to configure Edius or Avid, premiere or Vinci in a way that reproduces this behavior exactly?

    plese see my video attached

I won't comment on Edius or Davinci because I rarely use them.

Yes, both AVID MC and Premiere Pro can give you multiple ways of treating clips in the timeline, including what you stated you wanted to do, but in fact much more than your NLE I would bet.

    Clip locking(protection)/unlocking(unprotection)
    Track locking/unlocking
    Ganging(grouping)/Unganging(ungrouping)
    Slip/manual/shuffle/block-based/grid/TC-based/3point edit modes, and more...

Btw, the link isn't working for me.
