  1. I have bought a few films now on VCD. Only one will play on my LG DVD-4210 player, which has had the hack for vcd put in. I have checked the directories on the discs but can't see any major differences. Can anyone point me in the right direction and can I re-burn the discs so that they do play, sample film directories are below:
    Film 1 (This one plays)
    CDI- empty

    EXT-
    LOT_X.VCD;1 64K
    PSD_X.VCD;1 24

    AVSEQ01.DAT;1 402,964K

    SEGMENT- empty

  2. could be other VCD not standard compliant...

wut you can do is copy the AVSEQ01.DAT file onto your computer....then you can use nero's VCD template to make a VCD out of it...after nero scans the .dat file, if it asks you to turn standard compliance off, then it prolly won't be able to play on your DVD player...

if this is the case, then you can use VCDgear to burn the .dat file into a proper .mpg file (strips away the extra info and headers that VCDs put in front of .mpg file to turn into .dat file)

on the other hand, if you can reburn the AVSEQ01.DAT file w/ nero's VCD template AS A STANDARD COMPLIANT VCD, then there shouldn't be a problem for your dvd player to play it
