I got a Yongnuo yn600 and currently have it mounted on a flimsy light stand. I can pick up a decent tripod 2nd hand a lot cheaper than a pro light stand and can use it for my camera also. Should be a lot more stable and adjustable too. Any thoughts?

Light stands are designed with low leg spreads so it is easier to keep them out of the shot, but there is no technical reason it won't work. But what happens if you need to use the light and camera at the same time?

I just ordered a tripod and then seeing the legs which fold out from the very top, thought hmmm, this is going to get in the way lol. I know now why the light stands are like a long stalk on small legs, so you can move around them freely, but unfortunately also very easy to knock over which I have done several times. Never mind, I think it will fit my purpose
Got a nice high one too can get the light high enough
