In my DVD player, a Mustek 520, if I play a VCD or Svcd the image is always cropped about 2 or 3 centimeters on all the sides (top, bottom, left, and right) , So the subtitles sometimes get cut or you can't simply see them. To solve this I put a black border on all my Svcd, but my questions are:
- Do you have to put the blackborder in you Svcd (Pal 480x576 at 25 fps ) ?
- All the players cut the image?
- If I play my vids in another player will I see the black lines?
Thank you

-yes
-the player does not cut the image but the TV set does not display the entire image.
-maybe, TV overscan area varies from TV to TV. -
thx, one more thing, What's the best way of putting the black border? Virtual Dub frameserving to TMGEnc or Avisynth ? AFAIK you (Truman) will say Avisynth, but I haven't been able yet to create the right options to do it.
