    supreme,

well, a vcd is has a strict format of 352x240 at 1150. No two ways about it. Your gonna get roughly 1meg per minute of video. Three ways to get around it:

1 - Get CDs with more room. If your movie is 90 minutes or less, or, you can cut out some crappy parts to get it to 90 minutes, see if your burner and player support 90 min CDs.

2 - Go xVCD, basically make it just an MPEG1 file. Lower both your resolution to say 300x200, anything less than the standard and/or lower the bitrate. Both with reduce quality, but, you can get down to 1 cd eventually. I'd date say that most players that support VCD will support xVCD at lower specs.

3 - Try going SVCD/MPEG2 using the same logic. It VBR capability may be able to buy you a little more room. It'll be a bit harder to find players that support this though. Check this site for templates to TMPGenc that specialize in this sort of compression without sacrificing quality. I've seen some people claim to put 4hrs of SVCD on a CD. Of course its probably at 80x60 with a 200k bitrate :P and makes the movie look like a cartoon. :P :P :P

But from my standpoint, to be able to keep some adequte quality, you won't get much better than VCD since you're re-encoding from divx anyway, swapping out two disks that cost US$.10 apiece anyway isn't much of a big deal.
    Have a good one,

  6. SuPr3m3,
These 600,000 files doubling in size how long in minutes are they?
I had the same problem with avi's getting bigger but what counts is minutes.
