Decoder problem?

Hello from Greece. So...i have many years that i record football games for my archive.

I do it with a PCI hdmi capture card(SA7160 PCI, Analog01 Capture) bought it from ebay and the Pot Player.
I connect the decoder with my pci card with HDMI cable, i open Pot Player--> Open--> Open Analog TV and done.

Havent use them about a month. In this month i cleaned the pc with CCleaner some days ago, delete some quarantine bugs from my pc.

So...5 days ago, try to record again. I did the same thinks that i do all the time and...nothing...
The screen of Pot Player is black like theres nothing to see.
Thought that maybe is a codec that is missing. Nope... Same thing. Download other programms like VLC, ffdshow, KMP, OBS...Still nothing.
Old Pot Players version...Nothing.

I used an old usb video grabber. Nothing. Install the Power Director. I capture from TV singal, finally was sound not view...But only in Power Director.

I thought that was the PCI card...But!
I a connected the decoder with PCI card as i always did in "IN" socket with HDMI cable, and connect with another HDMI cable the "OUT" socket of PCI card with my TV. It worked!!!

I believe is something missing from my pc...That the cleaner, clean something that i need...
Or...i dont know...

Can anybody help me?

Try to uninstall the SA7160 PCI card from the Device Manager and restart.
It should reboot and hopefully install the missing driver.

Yes. I even install an earlier version, because i belevied that, that was the problem.
I even send an email to admins. They told me to use another programm....
I dont believe thats an Pot Player problem...

Maybe i unistall something in my pc....I dont know!

Have you tried using the round analog connector instead of HDMI to grab video?

The sockets of PCI card are hdmi.
But yes, i try the usb video graber with analog and scart and everything...
Nothing except the sound in power director.

Well if you suspect your PC, then perhaps you can try installing the the card in another PC at home or ask a friend to allow you. At least this way you know if it is the PC for sure.
The other painful alternative is to install Windows 10 without all the the programms (but obviously back up everything first) and see if that helps. Don't lose the activation key of Windows 10 because you probably have an OEM version.

There is the possibilty that your card has become faulty or your TV/video source provider has put more security on the signal so that HDMI doesn't allow recording to external devices.
Are you using a Satellite receiver with provider such as Nova for example?
If yes, then try to use an FTA channel such as ERT World which is not encypted and hope that your receiver would allow it.
Or use any other video source with HDMI output that you have at home.

Sorry but you didn't tell me what is your video source. Is it a satellite receiver or what?
If you connect any video source which has an HDMI connecter out to the capture card and it works then the problem might be with the receiver (or decoder as you call it).

Satellite!
But i use 2 different decoders. Even if the one for some reason its locked, im sure that the other is not.
And also tryied free channel like ERT world or Vouli.
The screen its still black.

Have you tried to use an Enigma2 satellite receiver? I have a Mutant HD51 and record to an external HDD without the need to record using a capture card.
Going back to your problem, I really don't know what more I can advise.

And suddenly out of nowhere, I put an old capture device, not good quality, and it worked.
The image is not of good quality either, but I know that the card is probably problematic and the decoder is not locked.
Just ordered a new pci card. Hopped everything will be alright.
