CCE 2.50 mpeg2 movie export problem

When I export my movie file using cce 2.50 to mpeg 2 i get two files, one large one with no extention and a small one with a vaf extension. What is causing this????

You are. You need to SHOW ALL EXTENTIONS in Windows. Either that, or you are setting up your files to have no extentions (when you set your options in CCE). The .VAF file is the information file that CCE creates when it does multiple passes. All you need to do (if extentions are really on) is to rename the file FILE.M2V. Then any authoring program will take it.

The file extensions were on and there was still extension. I tried changing the name to .m2v but no program would recognize it.

Start cce, select options > extensions. Also it would be helpfull to post your encoder settings, e.g. the encoder control list.
