I have Harry Potter in two AVI files and want to go to VCD. When I use TNPGEnc to convert the files to MPEG1, it tells me that the audio is using different compression (or something VERY similar) and aborts. This is my first attempt at this type of thing, even though I've been dealing with computers (professionally and personally) for 20 years now. The nice thing is they always give you something new to learn, the bad part is not being able to figure it out yourself. HELP!

I've read many of the forums here and did searches on the subject. I have found other AVI to MPEG issues, but none that I can apply to my situation.
    thanks,
    Tom

  2. First you have to go to v-dub and the under video select direct stream and under audio select full processing mode then go back to audio select conversion and change to 44100hz select ok. Finally go to file save as wave and give it a differnt name. The file will be really big but you can delete it after you encode with tmpnce.

Thanks for the response! Warned you, I am a real newbie at this. Is v-dub another program? Can't find a v-dub option in TMPGEnc, I've looked at the downloads section and can't find a "v-dub". Any further assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    Tom

  4. Dude:
Try TMPGEnc version 12a, it might work better. You might also try downloading the Nimo Codec Pack, both are available from this Site at the left under "Tools".

  5. Under the tool section go to capturing and scroll down to virtualdub also called v-dub for short.

Thanks, I'll get the programs. My version of TMPGEnc says it 2.54. There is a version 12?
    thanks,
    Tom
