  1. Okay I admit to being semi-new to capturing and burning VCDs. I have an onboard sound card with an XP1700.Windows XP no problem with the system. I can capture thru ATI-no problem at all. I turn my in Volume all the way down and my overall volume almost down to capture. But I burn to VCD and the quality is great, byt the sound is terrible. It sound like I've recorded a very loud soundtrack. Some help please?????

You need to make sure your record volume level is set right. Goto volume play control. click options, click record. You should have line in checked so you can adjust the record volume. also make sure you sound cable from you video card is plugged into line in and not mic.
May the force be with you.
