  1. My fps is 14.958 in virtual dub.I'm trying to convert avi to mpeg in TMPGEnc.What template should i use? I'm really new to this so any help is greatly appreciated.I made a vcd with the PAL template and it is real jerky and has a lot of blocks showing.I converting another with the NTSC template and I can't get it to burn with ez cd creator.Thanx.

  2. terrapin , before encoding , you should note that ntsc and pal are for two different , regions, nstc (north america) while pal is mostly europe.
    as far as vdub reporting 14fps, try to set this manually in tmpg to 14, while all other settings werk well,on my system in my be different from system to system.... xperiment a little , untill you find the proper settings that will werk on your standalone dvd.

    14.958 is a very odd framerate. The template, that you have to use depends on the region where you live resp. the system, that your TV support. 14.958 is almost (not exactly) half NTSC framerate. So if you encode it to NTSC, every frame will get duplicated. At the end you will have a poor, jerky playback. Sorry, ~15 fps is a very poor source.
    Next time capture at 23.976 (NTSC FILM) or 25 fps (PAL).
