Animated jpg images how this can be done

Hi

i'm using a game / chat app . this app doesn't support Gif files as profile image . you can select them as profile image but it doesn't play back , however i see few user manage to trick the system and used an Animated profile image . i try to change the gif file extention to png or jpg but still the image did't play back so i'm assuming those guys used more advanced technique like editing this image code or something ?

is it posbble to Animated jpg sequence as jpg file ? i try png as APNG but that didn't work ether .

i'm sure that they used Gif file but somehow they play with some of the file code or attribute but i don't know how

i ask but no one tell .
i can't save the images from the app . as i was thinking if i can save one of those guys profile image i would know what type of image they use but sadlly you can't get download images from this android / IOS app

Maybe a script that makes the gif part of the filename invisible.

i did change the file extension from .gif to jpg and png but still that gif file didn't play back . you can choose the file even with .gif file extension but no playback .

so far i try
.gif
.APNG
.WebP

but all that didn't help . i think they changed something within the file attribute in order to trick the system into thinking this is just normal image or something .
