  1. Hi all!

I got a player made regionfree in the store. I guess this is done whith a chip, but I`m not sure.
When I try to play SVCD, I can`t get it to work. Is this because it is an ex-rc2?
If I use the remote to lock on rc1(Play,2,7,4 - 005000128156)to be able to play SVCD, will I then not be able to use rc2 DVD`s whitout switching back to rc2?
Is there a way to override the max.25 allowed rc-changes?

All answers, partials or full, will be greatly appriciated.

  2. Hi again.

Found answer to one of the questions. I can not play RC2 when I switch to RC1 with the original remote, despite it`s regionfree from the store.

Have not tried, but I found a way to play RC1+2 and SVCD. Switch to RC1 with original remote, then send code6 with OneForAll or Palm.

But I still have one unanswerd question. Is there any way to override the 25 RC-change limit?

  3. You can use the RC6 code as may times as you like... the 25x limit is only for the play 159 and play 274 codes (for Philips I suggest you use pl159 and not 274). I own a dvd710 myself and I used a palm - rc6 code to set it to R1 and then made it regionfree using the RC6-regionfree code. Works like a charm - no problems in nearly two years.
