  1. after ripping with smart ripper,converting with dvd2avi,then tmpgenc,my video is jerky in most scenes.can you help?i am using mpeg2 svcd,i tried different frame rates 23.9,29.9,30 fps,nothing changed.im using cbr,i also tried interlace 3:2 pulldown,inverse,when using these it spaced out the jerkiness a little bit.in other words ,rather then jerking every 2 or 3 seconds it would jerk every 5 or six.thanks

  2. Did you convert the frame rate? i.e. is the source say 29.97 and output 25 (NTSC to PAL) or from file (23.97) to whatever?

    If you did this can cause jerky playback. There are guides on the site adressing this problem but it you did NTSC to PAL (or visa versa) I would suggest don't bother, if your player etc handles it.

  3. i'm assuming svcd since you failed to offer even this most basic of info. did you check the field order before encoding? if you got it wrong demux the video & feed it thru pulldown using the -nopulldown -tff [odd, even] switches to swap out the field order
