  1. I tried it on both Fields A and B in TMPGEnc but the same thing happens even though using the de-interlace fiilter I found the right order as A. Although all the other eps on the dDVD are Field B.

I am trying to make an SVCD and cannot de-interlace it anyway, even if I had to.

    Why is this happening?

PS Does DVD2SVCD handle such DVDs properly i.e makes 4 seperate discs if I am ripping a DVD with 4 episodes on?

    Thanks. :P

  3. r u converting fr NTSC source to PAL?
i faced exactly the same problem as you if i did the above.
so i die die must choose NTSC to NTSC template only in tmpgenc.
the rsult it, though my vcdplayer can decode the vcd, but the pic on my tv appears to be slightly flattened since my TV is PAL only.

    hope this help abit.

  4. Ok, so you have an interlacing problem. But the question is what's the source. Since the source is interlaced I assume it's not a DivX. You mention DVD2SVCD so I'll assume a DVD source.

Question: is the DVD a ture interlaced source or is it telecided? Preview the VOBs in DVD2AVI (make sure that force film is NOT enabled). If the movie comes up as 90% or greater film, it's telecided. So in DVD2SVCD choose force film on (or if you want to kill more time, IVTC). If it's a true interlaced source, then MPEG2 should be able to support it?

We need more info about the source, your settings, and how you're encoding, etc.

how abt my case? usually i rip fr DVD. using the tmpgenc wizard the expert detector for source setting, it always reports as 'interlace'.
i tried to play ard by changing it to non-interlace but the resultant mpegs still full of black lines when there is motion in the movie.

i know this is due to conversion fr NTSC to PAL. this is not solvable at all.
at least until now no one ever offers solutions for this issue.

    just my 2 cents!
