Hi ..and thanks for having me on the forum..I joined because my pioneer dv400v suddenly stopped working!! Had this model for quite a long time (very expensive then) and it has never been used much.We used it last about 2 months ago but now once its taken the dvd in it just says”loading” and thats it.Obviously tried good dvd’s..nothing.Can anyone suggest anything ..I’d hate to bin it..thanks rick

Sounds like you need to pull the cover(s) off and do a visual inspection and possible cleaning or lubrication.
If the machine is very old or not much used, the rubber drive discs or rubber belts may be hardened and slipping.
You might do an on-line search for a repair manual. I see a few listed.
But others here may have better information. And welcome to our forums.
