Clearly 102 GB is too much for anything other than archival.
Which format, bitrate etc. would you compress these VHS rips at?

But seriously the real questions ere 1. How and where you intend to view these tapes. 2. Do they need any post-processing (Noise removal etc.)
And you really should archive the captures should you decide at a later date to convert to another medium. -

Well, now, since you already capped noisy wobbly fuzzy VHS to artifact-laced mosquito noisy lossy DV, why don't you just encode them to h.264 with the cheapest software you can find (free is best, and there's plenty of it. Try Avidemux), and the lowest bitrate you'd like to live with? Why is this a question?
