I want to add subs to my movies and started a frame server with virtualdub like the guide says, byt when i want to encode the server file Tmpenc says its unsupported, same problem with Panasonic encoder!
Have tried everything i think but maybe someone have a solution for me.
Please help me if you have any suggestions!

I follow exactly the instruction in the guide but I have the same problem in Win98.
Also change the priority in the VFAPI setup but Tmpenc refuse to open the video.vdr.avi file.
I'm going to try in another PC. -
As mentioned I tested the frameserve methods with W2K, so some apps may behave different when running a different OS.
But I am sure, on win98 you have to turn off the proxy mode and save as *.vdr instead of *vdr.avi when you frameserve to TMPGEnc. -
I read in another post about problem with VirtualDub 1.4.10, the one I was using.
Tried with 1.4.9 and everything works
I'm just a bit disappointed by the speed (it takes more than twice the time of a direct conversion)
But the VirtualDub.org had already told me that.
Thanks to all
