Remuxing mvk to mp4 using Recode changed scan from progressive to intelaced

Hi,
I have many many DVDs that I backed up using Makemkv. I now want to remux them using Xmedia Recode using the "copy" feature in an effort to ONLY change the container file and preserve everything else.

But after comparing the created mp4 file to the original mkv file using mediainfo, I noticed that the "Scan Type" field in the mp4 file says "interlaced" whereas in the original mkv file says progressive.

Does this mean that the mp4 file was changed from progressive to interlaced (and as such, not an exact copy of the original mkv file)?
If so, how can I make an exact copy and only change the container?

I would appreciate any pointers in this matter.

Are you sure that both MKV and MP4 contain MPEG-2 video straight from the DVD? I'm curious to see a MediaInfo report of an MP4 container containing MPEG-2 video. Might be possible, I am not sure about the specs, just to check reality vs. expectations. And speaking of expectations, I would not expect progressive encoding for MPEG-2 on a DVD Video to be the default (I worked in a DVD studio once, and I remember that video technicians usually keep the encoders in interlaced mode, not to mess up the video accidently when the material is not certainly progressive).
