hello all
i managed to get my hands on a brand new hi8 boxed player never used? ... the playback quality is great but the audio on any sections with wind in are popping and crackling through my speakers ... i have changed input level ect as i thought there may have had been to much gain on the audio front but even at low audio input it still does this :/ ....
all is fine untill there is any direct wind on the mic of the camera that recorded the original footage .... has anyone any ideas on any fixes please

Most likely it was recorded that way. Unscreened wind can easily overload the audio circuitry.
