encoding avi to mpeg

WHen i encode to mpeg and burn it and play the file on the dvd player there is slight pause throughout the movie that is noticeable. I followed the instructions from the converting steps. I used 1:1vga. Should i do 4:3 ntsc(525) instead, to take the pause out. Some files are 14.985fps, 25fps, and 29fps.THanks

i seen that you use 1:1 for playback on the computer monitor and 4:3ntsc for playback on the tv. also try using the 3:2 pulldown to help the playback.
