I have a home video copied onto DVD which has a colour cast. Is it anything which edits the mpg file directly to alter the hue? I don't particularly want to use VirtualDub_MPEG2 (or similar) because the output will be an avi which will then need to be re-encoded back to mpeg.
As the image itself is not changing it would seem possible just to alter the colour attribute of each image and rewrite (or am I being too simplistic?).

VirtualDubMod and VirtualDub MPEG will not direct stream or output MPEG format. Womble MPEG editor will let you edit and output without re-encoding.

But you can't change the hue without reencoding as thecoalman says.
