    i've got the following:

    1gig Tbird
    384megs sdram
    ibm deskstar 60gxp (40gig)

i'm using dvd2svcd, using CCE 2.5 SP for frameserving.
i've got CCE set to 4 pass VBR.. and i'm downsampling audio from 48khz to 44.1 (for compatibility purposes with standalone DVD players)

anyway CCE takes 7+hours for frameserving.. so total time is around 9 or 10 hours.. is this too long for my setup? I see some peoeple with 1.3 gig pentium 4's that are doing complete rips in like 2 hours.. and athlon XP users who are ripping at under 2 hours.. any feedback???

  2. i have 1.2 gig t-bird and it takes me around 7-8 hrs to rip 2+ hr movie using CQ_VBR (single pass)

so you're time looks good considering your CPU is slower (CPU makes all the difference, RAM and HDD RPM doesn't really affect it much unless u running other apps at same time as encoding)

  3. Dude, If you're going to copy DVDs you need to get a VCD Recorder....like a Terapin www.terapintech.com
