  1. Hi,
I need help on converting a DivXAvi 352x288 to a MPEG1 VCD or MPEG2 SVCD and play it on the DVD/VCD Player on the TV. But i want to make the quality and resolution same as my original DivX movie. What settings should i put? Really need help.

    Cheers.

  2. Look at the guides.

You can make a VCD out of it. The input resulution is to small for SVCD. And dont hope too much, because DivX Quality look good on your PC, but not allways on TV.

  3. Sorry, but you can't. The VCD will have to be either shrunk or stretched.

In your situation, VCD is what you want, which is 352x240 so is pretty close to what you have...

    Now, this MIGHT work...

In TMPGEnc, make a XVCD (check out the tutorials on this site), and set the video output to 720x480, and then in the source file settings (in Advanced, I think), set it to CUSTOM spect ratio, and change it to the resolution you want (what matches your video).

I tried that with a 640x360 stream at 352x240 VCD, and I could only see a part of the screen. That suggests to me that those settings I made in advanced forced it to keep the aspect I set in Advanced.

This can maybe work just fine, your file is in PAL output format, what our friend GUTB is referring to is the NTSC format.
I think most players, at least in Europe, is able to play both PAL and NTSC formats. You have to check your documentation to see this. Just remember to check those settings when converting.
