I have a movie I am trying to backup 13 Ghosts. The movie is a dual-layer disc and after ripping with smartripper the total size of the video_ts folder is 5.3gb. I have played the .vob files with windvd and some of the .vob's are completely in french.
Is there a way to strip the french audio and commentary portions of this dvd and leave just the english movie audio to give me enough space to fit on a dvd-r?? Can I just delete those .vob files and burn the rest to the dvd?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

If you use smartripper you can choose "stream processing", or something like that. Then just choose what you want, like English AC3 audio, English subtitles, etc.

I tried using that but when I go into ifoedit and try to play the dvd back i get errors stating no video files could be loaded. It also doesnt get the menus but I'm probably doing something wrong. I couldnt find any tutorials on this subject which is why I turned to the forums.

from my research into ways to shrink a DVD to 4.3gb or less I found out you have to rip the entire dvd to your hardrive before you begin to edit out parts you don,t need(languages, subtitles.menus etc).IFO edit will not work unless you have the whole DVD. Check the guides on this site and doom 9 for more info.
