  1. Flash is dying, but I still have several .swf videos I downloaded which I want to preserve. I have had no luck finding anything that can convert them to anything else. FLV, yes. SWF, no. I found Shockwave Projector, a standalone player able to play them. Total Recorder's video edition will create a .avi from playback in Shockwave Projector. Trouble is, the final .avi includes the entire window (titlebar, menus, window frame, etc.). Total Recorder does let you give screen co-ordinates instead of designating a window, but the preview is too tiny for me to be able to set the co-ordinates. VirtualDub's x64 edition does provide a big enough view for me to see easily to crop, but it doesn't support cropping. If I could have selected a region to keep in one frame it would have applied the crop to every frame. With VirtualDub out, is there something else able to crop the frames (or convert directly from .swf)?

Doesn't the cropping button work in vdub ? You have to add the null transform filter first

Don't you want to apply the crop to every frame ? Or is the crop variable, different on different frames ?

  3. Cropping can be applied to any filter in VirtualDub(Mod). Just highlight the filter and press the cropping button on the Filters dialog. The crop takes place before the filter's operation. If you're not otherwise filtering you can add the Null Transform (do nothing) filter and add cropping to it. Don't be surprised if the video made from your FLV has audio/video sync problems.

I found the button. The whole process is too far from what I expected to see. I thought I could do it on the main window.
