I am using virtualdub 1.9.11 under windows 7 home premium, 64-bit

@ everyone. Feel free to add in your requests. Maybe the developers will see these requests and consider adding some of them.

Add: customize page size values for the timeline scrubing up/down the video

Reason: I use this while scrubbing through my vhs captures. And having this 5-frame page size helps me to review the telecine more accurately: I can spot a broken pppii more effectively than a random 50-frames page size. I use this when I am trying to cut a section out at the first pppii when looking at the first few groups of that pattern. Sometimes, I want to get as close as possible to a given section, and instead of scrubbing frame-by-frame or 50-frame page size, this would be better. If this is not a feature, can someone at least recompile a version that can be more user friendly?

Add: retain video handle to pane 1 and pane 2 (keep the same video windows Handle (aka, hwnd or hdc))

Reason: I analyze a frames color levels and other pixel information. When I load a new video or F5 to play it or open the filter window (to add or update filters), the Handle is changed and consequentially my app that reads that Handle no longer works and I have refresh my app to the new Handle. Note, it did not use to do that in older virtualdub versions, i.e., version 1.6.15 retains the Handle throughout the entirety of the apps first launch, right up to when you close it down. It does not change even when you load new videos into the timeline. It always retain the original Handle, until you close down virtualdub.

Add: filter graphs color Pro Amp controls.

Reason: During live capturing, the user can control the color levels more accurately rather than having to blindly set them prior to capturing. Having these control float above virtualdub while capturing will make things easier, not to mention, obtain more accurate captures. At the moment, I have a custom app that I wrote, that brings this dialog box (below) into view so that I can make the adjustments in real-time as I am capturing. But it would be more convenient if vdub had that ability instead. Everyone would benefit.

  2. Use GraphEdit to access the video proc amp while capturing. You'll see the picture in VirtualDub change as adjusting the proc amp.

  3. Please submit all feature requests to the official forum. The developer needs your ideas, as he has plenty of free time for working on VirtualDub but can't think of any new ideas on his own. All feature requests will be considered for the next release, which (since the last release was three years ago) should be arriving very soon. [/sarcasm]
