  1. I am new to video editing; I have Adobe Premiere Elements but haven't done much with it yet. I have a Coby DP769 digital photo frame that plays video; where do you find information about creating video files that it will play? Is there a forum for those sorts of "players"?

Usually in a manual that comes with the device.

A quick Google search gave me this

    http://www.manualslib.com/manual/223657/Coby-Dp-769.html
    http://www.cnet.com/products/coby-dp-769-digital-photo-frame/specs/

Unfortunately these don't give the full picture so you might be luckily that someone who knows the device can advise you or you might be in for some trial and error.

The above says that AVI and MPG (which is a container format) and Xvid (which is a video codec) is supported for video and MP3 (which is an audio codec) for audio.

I would then try to target either an AVI container with Xvid video codec and MP3 audio codec or a MPG container with MPEG-2 video codec and MP3 audio codec.

As for resolution your display is 480x234 and similar devices I know off only supports SD resolution of your video so I would try something like 720x480 or 640x480.

There might be other restrictions like what bitrate can be used but - trial and error
