    Hi all,
I have been using TMPGEnc to make DVDs and have been quite happy with the results. Yesterday I got what looked like compression distortion (pixilation?) on the face of someone moving towrd me, and quite close. As she moved closer her face was broken up into obvious blocks. As she passed the blocks went away.

I have been using the defaults and wizzard to set up an MPEG2 for a standard DVD. Has anyone seen this before and have an idea how to prevent this from happening?

    Thanks,
    Michael

  2. Try turning up the minimum bit rate. I've had better luck around 3000. From what I understand some DVD players may have problems above 2600, tho.... Try it and see. Turning it up has seemed to help some pixelization I've seen in slower scenes....
