Hey guys. I have a weird problem. I have Ulead VideoStudio 6 with DVD Plug-In. When I try to create a VCD with a CD-R it will burn correctly but when I use a CD-RW I get this error: Generic error from CD/DVD recording software. Please make sure that the drive is ready and try again. But if I slip a CD-R in there it runs fine. I downloaded there update patches and installed but still no luck. Anybody have a clue as to what is going on??? T/A

Since no patches have been for UVS6 as of yet, I'm, a little confused. From whom did you download these patches, and for what program? Do you mean the Ulead DVD Plug-in patch dated ~1/18/2002? I believe that UVS6 was not mentioned on the patch page, because UVS6 was already up-to-date.

Try uninstalling, and when the "re-install, repair, remove?" window pops up, choose "repair". Let it repair, then reboot and try again, but don't do the DVD Plug-in patches this time and see how it goes.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

There are also two sets of burning programs in the DVD plugin: ULEAD and NTI. I have always gotten some generic error with the ULEAD version but the NTI works every time. You find this choice in a drop down menu right before you burn.
